Sunday
9:30 -11:30 am

               Asana Workshop
In this popular workshop, we will review the foundational asanas (postures) that make up the vocabulary of our Hatha Yoga practice. We will address the form, benefit, metaphor and energetic qualities of each posture. This is a great workshop for new students and for experienced students who are ready to deepen their practice. Some previous Yoga experience is recommended.

Private Yoga:

Thai Yoga Massage: This is a deeply relaxing and therapeutic massage. Practiced on a special massage table, with the receiver clothed, Yoga Massage is a variation of Thai Yoga Bodywork. Yoga massage uses a variety of bodywork techniques, including yogic breathing, passive & active stretching, energy work and deep muscle release.

Therapeutic Yoga:  Yoga therapy addresses a wide spectrum of problems from fibromyalgia to depression. This form of Yoga therapy focuses on the major energy centers of the central core. Yoga therapy incorporates Yoga postures & breathing techniques, gentle touch & physical support and guided awareness. The holistic basis of this Yoga therapy can reveal the connections among several symptoms or conditions and help address the fundamental imbalances that contribute to them. In addition to experiencing specific therapeutic benefits, you will leave the hour-long session deeply relaxed and refreshed. Primary healthcare provider's ok is strongly recommended.

Personal Yoga Instruction:  Yoga instruction at your pace, your level and your convenience. Lots of individual attention, feedback and guidance. Private instruction is an ideal way to support a home practice or complement Yoga class. This is also a great way to begin a fitness program. Home visits are available.

Relaxation Therapy: A mind/body approach to calming the stress response. Working one-one with the therapist, you will learn specific techniques and lifestyle changes to help you prevent and reverse the cascade of physical and emotional changes that comprise our reaction to stress. Focus is on education, so you can integrate these techniques and changes into your everyday life.

Classes:

Integrative Yoga: An hour class emphasizing coordination of movement, breath and focused awareness. Increases flexibility & strength with deep relaxation. Appropriate for all levels of fitness and experience.

Prenatal Yoga: A safe, fun prenatal Yoga practice for pregnant women and their partners. Relieve the discomforts of pregnancy. Improve breathing and circulation. Prepare mind & body for labor, delivery & motherhood. Practice with other parents-to-be. No Yoga experience necessary. Pre-natal healthcare provider's ok is strongly recommended. Can be scheduled by arrangement. (Private pre-natal instruction is also available by appointment.)

Therapeutic Yoga: An hour class using  gentle, modified postures; yoga breathing and focused awareness & imagery. Yoga has been shown to have a therapeutic effect on a wide range of health challenges including heart disease, asthma, fibromyalgia, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, cancer, and chronic pain. Appropriate for people with limited strength or range of motion. Primary healthcare provider's ok is strongly recommended.  Scheduled by arrangement.

Workshops & Tutorials:
Workshops are single classes with a special focus. Tutorials are small on-going classes (limit of 4 students) with a special focus. They combine the personal attention of private Yoga instruction with the affordability and group energy of a full class. They are scheduled for four-week sessions, but can often be extended at the request of the class.

Integrative Stress Management: Use Yoga postures, breathing techniques and meditation skills for stress reduction. These techniques have been shown to reduce stress & anxiety, lower blood pressure, increase energy and manage chronic pain. Appropriate for all levels of fitness & experience.

Improve Your Posture: Good posture is critical to good health and appearance. This class focuses on alignment of the seven energy centers to recreate good postural habits. (Open to all levels of Yoga experience)

Yoga for Your Back: This class develops core strength to support the back and increases spine length to decompress the vertebrae. Healthcare provider's ok strongly recommended. (Open to all levels of Yoga experience)

Vigorous Yoga: This is a safe yet challenging class emphasizing heat and strength. (Previous Yoga experience required)

Yoga for Healthy Eating: Our eating styles and habits are tied closely to our physical, emotional and spiritual needs and nature. This class will explore Yoga postures, breathing and meditation that can help us learn to nourish, rather than undermine, ourselves. (Open to all levels of Yoga experience)

Workplace Wellness:

Yoga at Work:  Onsite Yoga classes emphasizing relaxation & deep muscle release. These classes often help employees with back problems, repetitive use injuries (like carpal tunnel syndrome) as well as stress reduction. Appropriate for all levels of fitness and experience. Scheduled by arrangement.

Stretch & Relax: A weekly onsite class focusing on simple stretches, breathing, and relaxation techniques. This class includes stretches for workstations (specific to your workplace) to prevent repetitive-use pain or injury.

Integrative Stress Management: A 1.5 hour workshop providing a basic understanding of how the body & mind respond to stress and why stress can cause health and workplace problems. Employees learn simple techniques to reverse the stress response and to reduce the effects of chronic stress.
